Jeremy S. Hansen Funeral Director/Owner

Jeremy’s interest in funeral service began when, as a teenager, he assisted his father and grandfather with the remodel of an area funeral home. Infused with a strong work ethic and desire to expand his horizons, Jeremy began his quest to become a funeral director while in high school. Following his graduation from Marquette Senior High School, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wayne State University with his Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science. By 2004, Jeremy was employed in funeral service locally for several years before becoming a partner in the Fassbender Funeral Home. In 2006, he was involved with the merging of the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home with the Fassbender Funeral Home, the working association that resulted has enhanced service for clients of both firms. Presently, Jeremy is the sole owner of both funeral homes. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, golfing, skiing, and snowboarding. He currently serves on many local boards and committees, including the UP Home Health and Hospice P.A.C. Board, Chairman of the UP Home Health and Hospice Foundation, Upper Peninsula Family Solutions, Chairman of the Downtown Development Authority, Treasurer of Michigan Funeral Directors Association District 10, and President of the Marquette Investment Club. Dona Hansen Office Manager

For over 20 years, Dona enjoyed being employed locally as a legal assistant.  When her son, Jeremy, purchased the Fassbender Funeral Home, and later the Swanson-Lundquist Home, he asked his mother to join him in his new venture in 2004. In addition to her role as Office Manager, Dona and her husband, Steve, spearhead the renovation projects at the funeral homes. In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking, walking, reading, and spending time with family. Her and Steve have two sons, Jeremy and Michael (wife, Jonelle Peterson), and a grandson, Glenn.  She enjoys the fulfillment that comes with belonging to an organization that serves people, especially during their most difficult  hours.
